Introducing Our New Director:
Marina Tsirambidis
Marina Tsirambidis' love for dance began at a young age. Growing up in Broadview Heights, she was surrounded by Greek cultural dancing, a tradition instilled in her by her family. This early exposure sparked a passion for dance that would blossom at the age of 3, leading her to enroll at Revolutions Dance Academy (RDA).
Marina thrived at RDA, honing her skills in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and tap under the guidance of Lisa and Tricia Bires. Eager to expand her horizons, she attended renowned dance conventions like Tremaine, Hollywood Vibe, 24/7, and Titans of Dance. These experiences exposed her to diverse styles and well-known instructors, enriching her artistic vocabulary. As Marina entered her high school years, she assisted instructors at the studio and developed a new passion: teaching. Her first experience leading a group of students was in the dance studio. Graduating from RDA with honors in Leadership and as the 2017 Dancer of the Year, Marina continued her studies at the University of Akron in the fall of 2020.
Marina's journey continued at the University of Akron, where she pursued a major in Middle Level Education with concentrations in Mathematics, Social Studies, and Special Education. Her love for dance didn't falter, however, as she minored in Dance and immersed herself in collegiate-level ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and dance history. At Akron, she had the privilege of attending guest lectures and receiving training from prestigious names like Parsons Dance, Gibney, and Raja Feather Kelly. Marina also competed as a Division 1A athlete on the University of Akron's Dance Team. Performing at football and basketball games, they achieved national recognition, placing 6th and 7th at the National Dance Alliance competitions in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Even throughout her academic endeavors, Marina remained deeply connected to her Greek heritage. She actively participated in her church, volunteered at festivals and international conventions, and continued teaching the Greek dance troupes. Her love for RDA never wavered either. Throughout her university years, she continued to teach and grow as a professional at the studio. She was promoted to the position of Competition Team Director in the fall of 2022. Her hard work and dedication persisted, as she was soon approached by Lisa and Tricia Bires to carry on the legacy of RDA.
Marina enters into this new period of her life as the owner of RDA with a unique and creative mindset in leading the studio into its next chapter. She is excited to continue on a legacy of dance excellence and quality training, with the support of the entire RDA family!
